I Love Our Home: Flowers

We have lived in our home for a year and a half. I love our home and have decided to share bits and pieces of my favorite parts with you all. Since I don't know the first thing about taking care of a yard, I decided to start with flowers.

The family that lived here before us spent a lot of time on the landscaping. I am extremely grateful for this. In the spring and summer we have beautiful plants that grow. My absolute favorites are the blue hydrangeas that grow in our back yard. Hydrangeas are my favorite flower so it always make me smile to look out my kitchen window and see these beautiful flowers.

We also have flowers growing in our front yard. They are white and they smell absolutely amazing. They have a really sweet smell, similar to honeysuckles. It is a wonderful scent to greet me when I come home. Do you know that name of them?

What is your favorite flower or plant around your home?

Update on 101 Things

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

When I started this blog in college, I created a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days. I managed to mark close to 45 things off the list before the 1001 days were up. I also managed to accomplish a lot of other things that were not on the list like getting married, buying a house, and surviving my first year of teaching.

I recently decided that even though the time limit is over, I am still going to work on completing everything on that list. Here are a few things I have done recently that I was able to cross off.

1. Send a letter to everyone in my address book.
I loved working on this. I really enjoyed creating and making cards to fit each recipients personality.

2. Learn to play chess.
I bought Tim an Appalachian Chess set so of course I had to learn how to play it.
I've only completed one game but am looking forward to playing more.

3. Visit the NC Zoo
This year for Mother's Day, my mom want us all to take a family trip to the NC Zoo. We had a lot of fun. Tim finally got to hold our adorable niece for the first time since she was a week old.

I now have 52 things crossed off my list. I am hoping to get everything crossed off by the end of this year!

Have you completed a 101 things in 1001 days list?
How did you manage to stick with it?
