I Want to Share

A few things I want to share with you...

These gorgeous flowers at the bottom of the stairwell
of the building I spend almost all of my time in.

This week I have started volunteering at a local elementary school to help students who are struggling in reading. It helped me to remember why I want to be a teacher.
I love it and I'm sad that I can't spend all my time helping them.
Especially today when one student opened up to me after only knowing me for 6 minutes.
This reminded me that everyone just needs some one to listen.

I'm excited that both my morning classes tomorrow are canceled.

The beautiful view from my front door tonight.
Today was a gorgeous day.

I have decided that whether or not I have children,
I will definitely have a swing in my backyard.

Hopefully one like this.

I'm also excited to head home tomorrow to see the boyfriend and the family.
Anything you want to share with me?

I'm Obsessed with Trees

I got to sit under this tree and read for about 15 minutes.
I didn't get much reading done because I was distracted by the people and being able to see a blue sky with gorgeous clouds.
It was beautiful.
Then I went to work and played tag with the kids.
Super fun even though it was a little cold.

I hope you have had a good couple of days.

Do You Tumble?

I created a tumblr.
I am pretty addicted to it.
And I'm sorry I have sort of neglected this blog.

Here is my tumblr.
Let me know if you have one.

I have finally discovered a reason for all those quotes I've been saving up.

P.S. I'm awful at the 365 project. haha.

Book 18 - The Last Song

Summary:
Ronnie and her brother are sent to the coast of North Carolina to spend the summer with their father. Small town life is very different compared to their life in NYC. Ronnie is very upset with her father because he left their family three years ago. She is not happy about spending the summer with him in Wilmington. Her father was once a concert pianist and a piano teacher. He now spends his time working on stained glass window to be put in the church he attended as a child. Ronnie and her father are both unsure of what the summer will bring but are surprised with what they find.

Review:
I loved this book. Absolutely loved it. Probably my second favorite Nicholas Sparks book. It was so amazing. This was a wonderful story of love. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started reading it, but after a few pages I was hooked. I cried several times throughout the book. I highly recommend this book. Please read it before you see the movie.

Dreams and Desires

I know we all have dreams and desires.
I have so many of my very own.
And one of my biggest fears is that I won't have the courage to follow them.

I dream of...

Traveling the world
Helping others believe in themselves
Being a good wife
Improving the quality of life for someone else
Teaching in a low-income area
Making sure people feel loved and cared for
Being an amazing mother
Enjoying every moment of life
Always remembering to love others instead of hate
Being confident in who I am
Not allowing others to make me feel insecure
Teaching overseas for a few years
Surrounding myself with positive people and escaping negativity

And most importantly, I dream of making a positive difference, no matter how small.

True

Our Love Story

Our anniversary is today, so I thought I would
share a mini version of our love story.

Tim and I met my sophomore year of high school.
We started talking in March of my junior year.
He was funny, cute, and a senior.
What more could a girl want?
I remember our first date like it was yesterday. I had butterflies, I would blush when ever he would look at me and flash his beautiful smile. I remember laughing quite a bit that night.
We dated throughout the spring and summer. Then fall showed up. He was preparing to leave for college. We would be two and a half hours away from each other. Not the best thing for a new relationship. But we were determined to make it work. He came home two weeks later, they were the longest two weeks of my life. He told me he loved me. I thought I had been in love before but I knew this time was different. I knew it was real.
We survived that long year apart. Then I joined him at school. We've spent the last four years getting to know each other and falling more in love. I love that he can always make me smile. He is my best friend. I share everything with him and couldn't imagine my life without him in it. He believes in superheros and I believe in fairy tales. Perfect match, right?
We have recently started long distance again for the next year and I know it will be hard but it's worth it. I am not a fan of being away from him but I know it's just one snapshot of our big picture.

Happy 4 Years Tim!

They have been wonderful and I look forward to many more years.
I love you so much.
Wishing you were here.

Wonderful Weekend

This weekend was pretty amazing.
On Friday, roommate and I went for a little walk.

We discovered a small creek near our apartment. It was fun to explore.

The weather was beautiful.
Tim and I spent most of the day together on Saturday.
We had an all day anniversary celebration.
I got a new book thanks to my Border's coupon.
Then we went to the antique shop and explored.
We went to dinner at our favorite little pizza joint in town.

And because he is such a great boyfriend, we watched New Moon.
Our anniversary is this Wednesday,
but unfortunately we won't be able to spend time together on that day.
(Silly long distance)
Just being able to spend time with him is best thing ever.

Hope you had a good weekend!

Project 365

I am going to start the 365 photo project.
Can't decide how I should display it.
Another blog?
Flickr?
Tumblr?
Something different?
What do you think?

The Best Deal of My Life.

I love that feeling of searching the sale racks, pulling something off that is actually cute and noticing the small tiny price.
I am always excited when I find something amazing for cheap.
I think the best deal of my life (so far) was my senior year prom dress.

{I'm in the pink.}

I absolutely loved this dress.
I was prepared to pay the full $150 for it.
I went to the register, holding my breath waiting for the total amount.
The cashier had to double check the price, but my total ended up being correct.
When she told me I only owed her $46, I was stunned.
My friends were shocked.
I couldn't believe it.
It was the best deal ever.

What has been the best deal of your life?

Procrastination.

I feel like there is not enough time in the day.
Maybe it's because I sleep too much,
maybe it's because I've felt like a busy bee.
or maybe it's because I'm great at procrastinating.
Especially when I am reading some wonderful blogs (any new recommendations?).
And shopping on Etsy.

How do you procrastinate?

Coloring Pages Spectacular.

I am fantastically amazed.
I love to color.
I always wanted to create my own coloring page but I was not artistic enough to draw a picture and then color in the lines.
Now I can create my OWN coloring page.
Thank you Crayola.com.

If you go here:
You can create your own coloring page.
They have so many things to choose from.
I've probably spent a good 30 minutes looking at all their options.

I love it.
You might love it or your kids might.
We are all still young at heart.

P.S. The 18th (Thursday) is Absolutely Incredible Kid Day.
If you have a kid or run into a kid let them know how absolutely incredible they are!

You Might Not Know...

You might not know that
  • I have a doll collection at home, and am kind of sad I've stopped collecting.
  • I hate when my toenails are not painted.
  • I pretty much love the show The Big Bang Theory
  • I hate the noise of a vacuum cleaner.
  • I have a small sketchbook that I try to fill with quotes (feel free to share your favorites).
  • I can't watch scary movie trailers.
  • I think butterflies are gorgeous.
  • I like to be organized but sometimes I'm quite messy.
  • I would love to to travel the world.
  • When I was in elementary school I wanted to group up to be a princess.
  • In middle school, I dreamed of being an actress (I am a little dramatic, as my mother would tell you).

I hope you had a great Monday.

This Week I'm Loving...

Shopping with my sister.
Finding the perfect dress for her wedding.

Great times with amazing friends.
Date nights.
New clothes.
New purse.

Nothing on You by B.o. B
I think it is the sweetest song and I love his voice.

Driving with the windows down.
Wearing rainbows.

The smell before it rains.
Sleeping in until 10:30.

This adorable video by She & Him.

What are you loving this week?

Spring Break Days 2, 3, & 4

Day Two:
I went to Target in the morning and bought an adorable plaid shirt.
Then had lunch with my sister in her store.
I was able to go to dinner that night with my best friend.
It was amazing.
We went to Chili's and caught up on the details of our lives.
Then we took a trip to Target and a bought a zebra print purse.
I'm a little obsessed with zebra print.
But then again who isn't?
Day Three:
I spend most of the day reading sitting in Megan's stop so she could go run some errands.
(I'm a great sister, right?)
Then Tim and I went to dinner at TGI Fridays.
It was delicious but I ate way to much.
After dinner we took a trip to the mall.
I enjoying going to the mall when it isn't crowded.
We had fun.
And last night I finished Harry Potter and the Sorcer's Stone.
My review should be up pretty soon.

Day Four:
I went to Micheal's with my my mom.
Then I went to Old Navy, I bought a new pair of jeans and an awesome new t-shirt.
(it says My boyfriend is a Superhero.)
Then I worked on something crafty.
Had Chinese for dinner with a friend and it was yummy.

I've enjoyed my time relaxing and not having anything that absolutely has to be done.
What have you been up to?

Spring Break Day 1

 {weheartit}

Yesterday was my first official day of Spring Break.
I went shopping with Megan at the fancy mall in town.
We were able to walk from Megan's apartment.
It was such a pretty day out.

We were on a mission to find my maid of honor dress for Megan's wedding in August.
And we did!
I'm so excited. I love it.
It's a gorgeous dress.
And I feel like I could walk down the red carpet in it.

Today I hope to make a trip to Target, clean my room, and finish reading Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets.

P.S. You have until 9 tonight to enter the giveaway!

Crazy Weather

The weather last week was a little crazy.
I went into my class on Tuesday at 11 and got out of class at 2.
There was no snow when I went to class.
I came to my car out of class and this is what it looked like:

Book 17 - Nights in Rodanthe

I finished Nights in Rodanthe by Nicholas Sparks.
This is the second time I've read this book.
The last time was my senior year of high school.

In this book, Adrienne and Paul are both trying to escape their pasts.
Paul has made some mistakes as a doctor and a father. He is on a journey to make things right.
Adrienne is watching an inn for a friend in Rodanthe. Paul is the only guest for the weekend.
Adrienne is trying to get over a divorce and still be a good mom. She opens up to Paul, which is unusual for her. They have many talks over dinner and walks on the beach. They start to fall for each other.
This is an amazing story which helps us to remember just how powerful love can be.

I LOVE this book.
My favorite Nicholas Sparks book.
It's an amazing love story and much better than the movie.
The love between Adrienne and Paul, Paul and his son; Mark, Adrienne and her kids, they are all wonderful. Always makes me cry.

My ultimate favorite quote came from this book:
"When I sleep, I dream of you, and when I wake, I long to hold you in my arms. If anything, our time apart has only made me more certain that I want to spend my nights by your side and my days with your heart."
I love this quote especially now that Tim and I are long distance.

P.S.  Don't forget to enter the giveaway.

Feet around the world - week 2

Nicole over at my teacups in peony is doing a project where everyone shows their feet picture for the week.
And everyone links up their post at the bottom of hers.
I think it's a good idea and a great way to find some new blogs.

I didn't do anything exciting so I took a picture of my feet doing what I love.
I love reading (duh).
Think you can guess what book I'm reading?

I Love Soft Pretzels.

I took this picture yesterday on my drive back to Boone.
(don't worry I pulled the car over)
It was cloudy but there was a small break in the clouds and the sun shone through.
Made the drive much better.
Unfortunately I was unable to make it up the hill to my apartment.
It was a pretty crazy evening.

My weekend was busy. I was glad I got to be at home some.
Tim and I went to the mall and I got 2 books for only $13.
And a soft pretzel.
Yum.

I hope you had an amazing weekend.
