It is so perfect and beautiful. I absolutely love it.

Can't Think of a Title

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas/Holiday.
I really enjoyed my Christmas.
It was nice to just lay around my house and spend time with family (and watch several seasons of Gilmore Girls).
I was part of history...We had our first white Christmas in Charlotte since 1943.
Technically it didn't start snowing until about 8 p.m. but still it was exciting.
Tim got me a new camera! I will probably be posting more pictures than I already do. Just to warn you. :]
Here are some of my favorite pictures so far:

A rose after the snow.

Loved this beautiful cup my Mom had in her cabinet.
Perfect for drinking hot chocolate on a snow day!

Tim and I on Christmas Eve!
We are heading to Charleston, SC tomorrow for a few days.
I am very excited about our trip and the fact that my birthday is in 4 days!

Since I have been home from school, I have been helping out my sister a lot with her jewelry and accessories store. So it's kind of like "our" store. haha. She has lots of cute affordable jewelry and accessories for sale. Please feel free to head on over to her shop and buy something!

You can find her shop here:

Reasons I am not a Grown Up #1

Growing up is something I would rather not do.
Although it has it's perks, it is still not something I am fond of.
Here are some reasons why I (a 21 almost 22 year old) don't consider myself a grown up.
I am going to start a running list of reasons why I am not a grown up.

1. Tim and I went on a date to Chuck E Cheese

We had a lot of fun. We ate pizza and played games all night. I enjoyed watching the kids around us play and I would get so excited when I won a lot of tickets or beat a specific game.
I won 60 tickets on the Wheel of Fortune game. I was ecstatic about it.
Of course we couldn't find a suitable prize so we gave our tickets to some random kid.
But we had fun and that is all that matters.

Destined to be a Princess

When I was younger I was bound and determined that I was going to grow up and be a princess.
Sarah means princess in Hebrew so of course it was my destiny.
My birthday parties were princess themed.
Cinderella was my favorite!
I was a princess for Halloween almost every year.
I would have dreams about a prince coming to rescue me (ridiculous I know).
My Polly Pockets were always princesses in trouble and the prince would come save her!

Then I would always read the Dear Diary books about princesses and Queens.
I think I read every book in the library about Queen Elizabeth I and Princess Diana.
I used to want a veil like Princess Diana's. (not so much anymore)

Something about Queen Elizabeth I and her life fascinated me.
She was such a strong and powerful women especially for the time period she lived in.
I was impressed.

Unfortunately I probably won't be an "official" princess but Tim always tells me I am his princess.
Which is good enough for me.

What do (or did) you dream about being when you grow up?

I am not sure why but I think I am obsessed with trees and taking pictures of trees.
Don't believe me?

I think there is something so interesting about them, because each tree is different and unique.
I also think they look amazing with leaves and without them.
Or maybe I'm obsessed because a tree was the only thing I could draw well in crafts class.

What do you think? Would you say I'm obsessed?
What do you think of trees?

Best Mail Ever!

I moved home on Saturday and when I got home there were a few lovely surprises for me!
My love letter from Project You! The envelope was so gorgeous I didn't want to open it.
Then I opened it and it was probably one of the sweetest letters I've ever gotten.
If you haven't joined Project You yet, you need to head on over there and join.

Then I also had a beautiful Christmas card from Diana at
Their card is so creative and I love it.
I definitely made me smile.

I am so grateful for the blogging community.
Hope you have had a wonderful day!

Making a Difference - Friendship Bracelet Project

Nicole is starting a Friendship Bracelet Project to send friendship bracelets to kids in Uganda.

I bought all of this to get started on making friendship bracelets!

I have never been the best at making friendship bracelets but I am going to try.
This is an easy and simple way to help make a difference.

Check out Nicole's post about it for more information!

I was finally able to go see my fourth graders today!
They have been out of school all week because of the crazy snow.
I haven't talked much about my internship this semester but it was an amazing experience.
The students I worked with were so sweet and smart.
My cooperating teacher was awesome as well.

My students completely caught me off guard with a wonderful surprise!

A basket full of school supplies! I was so amazed and felt so blessed.
To be honest I almost cried.
They also wrote me some very sweet and encouraging notes.
Days like today makes all the papers, ridiculous and time consuming assignments worth it.
Just one more semester.

P.S. I got my placement for student teaching next semester and it is absolutely perfect!
I am very excited.

Wild Hair

Want to know what happens when I leave my hair in a bun for two days?

It gets crazy curly and wild and chaotic.

I always forget how much hair I actually have.
It definitely made me laugh though, which is good because I think I am coming down with a case of cabin fever!

What makes your hair go crazy?

I Live in a Snow Globe!

Why haven't I left my apartment today?
Because I live in a snow globe!
Look at all that snow on our railing.

My poor car is stuck because it has been continuously snowing since Saturday.
My next car definitely will have four wheel drive.

I wished the sun would come out more so the snow would melt!
I am starting to miss my sweet fourth graders!

I couldn't even find my feet! There is so much snow and it's still snowing!

These look like Christmas trees! (also my picture for 365)

It feels like I literally live in a snow globe!
Anytime the wind blows it looks like someone took my town and shook it up.
I have to admit it is beautiful, if only I could get out.

How's the weather where you are?

Thanksgiving Pictures!

Tim and I on Thanksgiving.
(I am in love with this picture and this boy.)
I was so excited to see all the pretty leaves at home.
Isn't the tree in our backyard gorgeous?

We made turkey cookie desserts!
It was fun and chocolatey (is that even a word?). My siblings are silly.
I think I had the messiest job.

Family picture (minus Megan)
It was so good to spend some time with my grandparents.
They came all the way from Kentucky.

Everyone at dinner (including Megan and her hubby!).
It was so delicious.
I definitely ate way too much last week.
My favorite had to be the homemade mashed potatoes (yum)

What was your favorite Thanksgiving food last week?

Catch Up?

My Thanksgiving break was wonderful.
It was full of quality family time, quality boyfriend time, tons of food, lots of shopping, and relaxing.
I hope you had a wonderful holiday!

I enjoyed Black Friday shopping with my mom.
I got Christmas presents for several people and several pairs of shoes.

I can't believe I will be done with school for the semester in just two weeks.
In a way I am ready for it and then again I'm not.

Tell me about your week!

P.S. Don't you just love this picture?

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day full of family, love, and happiness.

I am thankful for family, Tim, friends, and all of you!
What are you thankful for?

If you don't celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you have a wonderful day.

P.S. If you are going shopping tomorrow, be careful!!

Crafty Lady

Last night I was so tired I didn't really want to do anything.
My roommate was getting crafty the other night and I couldn't join her because I had homework. (sad face)
I decided last night that I wanted to be crafty too!
Look at what I made!

I think I will make more and place them in frames or use them as cards.
What do you think??

Last week I started my full-time internship.
I go to an elementary school every day.
I'm gone from 6:45 am to about 4 pm every week day.
I am exhausted.
I love going, and I love being with the kids but they steal all my energy.
They have so many questions and stories to share.
I am physically sore when I get home. Feels like I completed an intense workout (what's that?).

I know there are a lot of people who work longer and harder than I do.
It has just been a major adjustment going from a college student schedule to a full-time work schedule.

Now I'm off to do homework.
Hope you had a wonderful and relaxing Tuesday.

The Largest Home in America

I took a field trip with my 4th graders last week.
We visited the largest privately owned home in the United States.
We went to the Biltmore Estate.
It was fun and gorgeous.
There are four floors and two basements.
There is a bowling alley and a swimming pool in the basement.
Crazy right?

The house was built by George Vanderbilt.
This home had the largest library I have ever seen. It was amazing, I could have stayed in there forever.
I enjoyed learning about the history of the home.
I can't wait to go back and spend all day there.

If you get the opportunity to go, you should take it.
Hopefully you won't have to ride a school bus for two hours there and back.
Unfortunately I didn't have time to take a lot of pictures.
But I can cross this off of my list! yay!

Making a Difference - Kind Over Matter

Kind Over Matter is a blog that I have been reading for a while now.
They always seem to make me smile.
This blog is run by Jenn and Amanda.

They started this blog with the hope of spreading love and kindness through their card drops.
A card drop is when someone drops a card with kind words on in public places like a restaurant, library, in window and many other places. They leave the card there so someone else can find it and hopefully smile.
They focus on kind projects and art as well as the handmade community.
Jenn and Amanda provide a lot of freebies and printables (including their awesome card drops).

Their blog is full of quotes and lovely images.
They post lovelies every Friday with links that made them smile throughout the week.
They are working hard to make the world a kinder place.

Kind Over Matter is currently entered in the Pepsi Refresh Project.
They are hoping to turn Kind Over Matter into a non-profit organization so they can provide grants to artists in the handmade industry.
They made an awesome video that helps explain it.
They need our votes to help them accomplish this.
You can vote once a day and it's so easy because you can log in with Facebook.

P.S. I've disabled comments because I would like for you to check out Kind Over Matter and leave them a comment somewhere on their blog! And share them with all of your friends!

Sunrise and the Park!

I have the best boyfriend ever.
He got up early on his day off to go watch the sunrise with me.
We watched the sun come up from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
It was so beautiful. I was so happy I got to share it with him.
Now I can cross it off of my 101 things to do in 1001 days list.

After a long nap, we went to the park to play.
We had a lot of fun.
I really hope we never grow up (all the way).

My new favorite picture.

Of course after a hard day of playing we went for delicious ice cream.
It was pretty much a perfect Saturday.

Project You Sunglasses!

The Project You Sunglasses finally made their way to visit me in Boone!

I was so happy when I opened my mailbox and saw them. I was even happier once I realized they were pink!
I loved wearing the glasses so much. I have admit I will be sad to see them leave.

I wore the sunglasses to watch the sunrise. It was so beautiful!
The other people watching the sunrise laughed when they saw me with my glasses.
What a perfect way to start the day!

My favorite picture of the sunrise.

Then later we played on the playground!

Before going down the fireman's pole.

This balance beam was harder than it looked.
It was very wavy.

Hide and seek?
Can you find me?

And of course my favorite!
A trip to the playground is not complete without swinging.

Wearing the sunglasses was so much fun.
I loved to see people smile and laugh.
I think I want a pair in every color.

P.S. If you haven't joined Project You then you definitely should!
